The idea of affiliate marketing is that you will help a company sell a product and you get a cut from the sale. One example of this is Amazon.com. If you become an Amazon associate then you can write reveiws of books and as people read your reviews then they can go and buy the book and you get a few dollars as a kickback, actually you get 4-6% but if you sell a few books this way then the numbers begin to add uop.
Many people are involved in affiliate makreting and there are many companies that you can go to and become an affiliate. The most common are Amazon, Clickbank, Linkshare, and Commision Junction.
To get started in affiliate marketing the most important thing I believe to do is to get your own hosting account (I use 1 and 1 .com and they are good an really cheap), and learn how to write good reveiws and that is basically it.
